When trees cry
2021This painting views a forest with trees in an abstract way. The title "When trees cry" is a cry for help against the trees chopping in primeval forests worldwide. The consequenties of this chopping affects our world in which we live as humans, animals and plants. The change of climate is at stake.
Dress the naked
2021One of the seven works of Mercy is: Dress the naked!. The undressed woman looks vulnerable, only protected by her garment, however she is strong because she holds her back straight. I see a connection with refugees. Do we give them a 'garment' to give them back their dignity.. The colours are vermiljoen, turqoise blue, white and violet.
The wilderniss will blossom like a rose!
2020This painting refers to the Biblebook of Isaiah 35:1 and to a poet (VI) of Martinus Nijhoff in his book with collected poems. Made with acrylic paint mixed with marblepowder
Sorrow
2020I made this painting with the socalled squee gee technique. It is based on the technique the German artist Gerhard Richter uses for his paintings. This painting is called Sorrow, because I was really sad at the moment I made this painting.
Frost
2020I used sand and acrylic paint. The colours are turqoise, deep turqoise and white.
Apology
2020Sometimes people give an apology for something they did wrong. I had guilty feelings of things what was not my fault. So I had to forgive myself and set myself free. This painting is the first of three paintings.

2020This is the first of a series of three paintings inspired by German artist, Gerhard Richter. With many layers acrylic paint I used a trowel to paint the painting. Between the dark lines you can see the light coming in. Due to the Corona regulations I felt trapped and painting helps me to unchain myself

2020This is the third of a series of three paintings inspired by German artist Gerhard Richter. In these strange days I am receiving so much love and attention from other people, by telephone, a walk with the dog or a piece of cake into my mailbox. Gratefully accepted.
Frozen tears 1
2020This painting I used sand to make a rough surface together with the acrylic paint. It symbolises the harshness of life, fugitives in the cold, children in need, homeless people. There is so much pain in the world.

2020With this painting I used sand as well in Frozen Tears 1. The red tears symbolizes the violence against people to use power to put people under pressure.
Goodbye
2020Recently I had to say goodbye to people I love. Sometimes because of death, sometimes because people are going further with their lives. Mourning has different layers, like this painting has also many different layers.
Between the wings
2020This painting is about myself, standing between the wings, in the shadow. I want to come foreward in the light, but I am afraid of rejection. I used also with this painting many layers of paint and used a putty knife to spread the paint over the canvas. This painting is made after the painting 'Goodbye' and are connected with each other.
